Genesis 3:21

Translation

Then, the LORD God made tunics of skin for Adam and his wife. Thus were they clothed.

Commentary

tunic

A Tunic from about 1700 BCE

tunics: in the ANE, a tunic is a long, shirt-like garment, usually of linen but, as described in this verse, made from animal skins. Note that God doesn’t just replace the leaves heretofore covering only their genitals. Now he makes clothing that covers from mid-thigh to neck.
